The Reading Fundamentals Track is the academic core of our After School Program. Personalized 8-week curricula for grades 4–6, generated after each student's placement assessment — delivered daily from 3:20 to 4:20 PM.

Each track is tailored to grade-level standards while following the same proven 8-week structure.
Grade 4 — Building Foundations
Phonics mastery, early comprehension strategies, and vocabulary expansion through age-appropriate texts.
Grade 5 — Expanding Skills
Deeper comprehension, inferencing, expanded vocabulary, and fluent oral reading with expression.
Grade 6 — Mastery & Leadership
Critical analysis, cross-text comparisons, persuasive writing, and independent reading with full fluency.
Weekly Curriculum Rhythm
Each week follows a consistent Monday–Friday rhythm during the Reading Lesson block (3:20–4:20 PM).

After School Program Hours: Mon–Fri, 3:00–5:30 PM. The Reading Fundamentals lesson runs 3:20–4:20 PM, followed by Assignment Support (4:20–4:50 PM) and Enrichment (4:50–5:15 PM).

Week 1: Phonics Foundations & Patterns
Letter sounds, blends, digraphs, and decoding strategies to unlock every word.
Week 2: Vocabulary Building & Context Clues
Daily vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, and using context to understand new words.
Week 3: Reading Comprehension Strategies
Visualize, predict, question, summarize, and connect with texts for deeper understanding.
Week 4: Fluency & Expression
Read with accuracy, appropriate pace, and expressive intonation that brings stories to life.
Week 5: Written Response & Thinking
Construct thoughtful written answers that demonstrate comprehension and critical thinking.
Week 6: Advanced Comprehension & Analysis
Author's purpose, character analysis, theme identification, and cross-text comparison.
Week 7: Integration & Cross-Skill Application
Combine all learned skills in complex passages requiring multi-step reasoning.
Week 8: Review, Mastery & Final Exam Prep
Comprehensive review of all 7 weeks, practice tests, and preparation for the final exam.
